Best used for
R. P. Brown is a light, fine-speckled granite with grey, brown and a touch of pink in the grain. It is one of the lighter options in the yard, close to a grey but warmer, and it brightens a room in a way the darker browns do not. It is a practical whole-house flooring stone and a good counter for a kitchen with dark cabinets, where it provides contrast without the starkness of white.
Things to know
Lighter granites show less dust and water-spotting than black but are slightly more prone to showing a stain if oil or haldi is left for days; seal once after fitting and wipe spills when you see them. The fine grain hides joints and makes it an easy stone to lay in large areas. As with all speckled granites, take the slabs you need from one lot so the tone is consistent.
