Best used for
Zed Black is a deep, almost solid black granite with very little visible grain. It is the stone for a plain, even black: kitchen counters, stair treads with a lighter riser, borders and inlays in a pale floor, nameplates and memorials. It also suits modern kitchens with handleless cabinets and plain walls.
Things to know
A polished plain black shows every fingerprint, water drop and scratch, and it shows dust within a day. If the counter will be used hard, consider a leather-finish stone such as Black Lapatro instead, or plan on a daily wipe with a dry cloth. Seal once after fitting; dense black granite needs little else.
